100% pure vanilla powder is made only from crushed Tahitian & Bourbon vanilla beans from Papua New Guinea.This powder does not contain any sugar, additives or preservatives & is made using the whole bean, which have been dried & pulverized.

Post extracted vanilla powder is made from the beans which have been used for making vanilla extract, so they are not "virgin" any more. These beans have only been used once before making ground vanilla, unlike some manufacturers which will use their beans twice or more. These post-extracted beans have little flavour left in them, however, and are used primarily for "look" and texture, rather than to add flavour to your product.
